- Reviving the wines of Constantia: The modern « Vin de Constance » revives Constantia’s sweet wines, enjoyed by Napoleon and mentioned by Jane Austen. After a long interruption, Duggie Jooste and Ross Gower renewed this tradition in the 1980s, with a first vintage in 1986.
- A sweet muscat without added alcohol: « Vin de Constance » is an intensely sweet muscat de Frontignan without added alcohol, whose fermentation stops naturally. In 2021, picking ranged from the freshest to the most concentrated grapes to balance sweetness, acidity and alcohol in the blend.
- Sweetness threaded with freshness: « Vin de Constance » 2021: apricot, bitter-orange marmalade, jasmine and spice. Creamy richness is threaded with lively acidity and a saline sensation; the long finish retains a fine peel-like bitterness.
