Defining estates and collectives

Cavicchioli

Emilia-Romagna

  • A vineyard for Lambrusco: Created in 1987, “Vigna del Cristo” comes from the Cristo vineyard in the heart of Sorbara. Cavicchioli vinifies Lambrusco di Sorbara alone here: behind the name of this family of wines lies a specific grape and origin.
  • One hundred and twenty days on the lees: The wine rests for at least one hundred and twenty days in contact with its lees in a closed tank. This method retains the bubbles while allowing the wine to mature before bottling.
  • Pale red, dry and tangy: “Vigna del Cristo”, is a dry frizzante, lightly sparkling. Violet, raspberry and strawberry accompany a tangy freshness.
Pioneers and renewal

Fattoria Zerbina

Emilia-Romagna

  • A harvest berry by berry: For “Scacco Matto”, Zerbina waits for noble rot, which concentrates the Albana grapes when conditions are favourable. Harvesting takes place in several passes to select the grapes that are ready.
  • Knowing when to skip a year: If conditions are unsuitable, the estate does not produce “Scacco Matto”. This Romagna Albana Passito thus depends on the success of this particular harvest.
  • Sweetness that stays lively: “Scacco Matto”, evokes candied orange, saffron, acacia honey and apricot. Its sweet, enveloping palate is extended by freshness.
