Serving still wine

Three recommendation questions

1 / 3
01
  • Ask about preferred style, chosen dishes and budget.
  • A concrete question helps: “Lively and light, or full and supple?” Two well-explained suggestions are often enough.
02
  • For each suggestion, give the precise wine, producer, available vintage and price.
  • Justify it through the desired taste and dish, without promising that vintage alone guarantees quality.
03
  • If unavailable, seek a similar style and price.
  • Example: “That wine is unavailable; this one keeps the freshness you want, with a little more body.” Wait for the guest's choice.
04
  • Also suggest an alcohol-free option suited to the dish and preferences.
  • Check the actual available product and characteristics before recommending it; do not assume it exactly reproduces a wine's profile.
